The Israeli army said on Tuesday that it conducted "simultaneous strikes" on Tehran and Beirut. It subsequently claimed the "head of Hezbollah's weapons build-up" had been killed in the strikes and that the so-called "Iranian leadership compound" had been hit.  

Later in the day, Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps said it carried out a new wave of strikes against US targets in the Middle East region.
