The Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, China's top political advisory body, opened its annual session on Wednesday in Beijing.

Thanks to the development in the past more than 40 years of reform and opening up, the Chinese people have been able to feed themselves and "hold the rice bowl firmly in their own hands," said Liu Yonghao, a CPPCC member and chairman of New Hope Group, in an interview with CGTN's Aaron Liu.
