China's tourism market expanded strongly over the past year, with both domestic and cross-border travel posting double-digit growth. 

Domestic trips reached 6.52 billion, up 16.2 percent year on year, while total spending rose 9.5 percent to 6.3 trillion yuan ($883.8 billion). Inbound tourism also rebounded markedly, with 154.5 million visits recorded, an increase of 17.1 percent. Of these, 35.17 million were foreign travelers. Inbound tourism spending surged 39.2 percent to $131.1 billion, reflecting stronger recovery in international demand. Visa-free policies continued to boost arrivals, with 30.08 million foreign visitors entering China without a visa, up 49.5 percent.
