China successfully meets major economic, social development targets for 2025

Chinese Premier Li Qiang said China successfully met its major economic and social development targets for 2025 and concluded its 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025) under the leadership of President Xi Jinping.

He made the remarks while delivering the government work report at the fourth session of the 14th National People's Congress on Thursday.

Premier Li described 2025 as an extraordinary year, saying that in the face of profound and complex changes at home and abroad, the Communist Party of China Central Committee, with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, rallied the Chinese people of all ethnic groups and led the nation in overcoming challenges and striving forward.

Li said the government remained committed to the new development philosophy and pursued high-quality growth, while coordinating domestic and international priorities. Thanks to these efforts, Li said, the country successfully met its major economic and social development targets for 2025, marking the full completion of the 14th Five-Year Plan and taking solid new strides in advancing Chinese modernization.
