Six projects centered on food and energy security are proposed in the draft outline of the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development of the People's Republic of China (2026-2030), according to the government work report submitted on Thursday to the country's top legislature for deliberation.

A total of 109 major projects in six areas have been proposed in order to ensure effective implementation of the objectives and tasks of the 15th Five-Year Plan, based on a full consideration of their strategic value, guiding role and continuity, the report stated.

These major projects are of critical importance to China's current and long-term development, and they involve both physical investment and institutional building, it said.

China will better leverage government investment to encourage the participation of non-governmental actors and give full play to the vital role of these projects in reinforcing foundations, shoring up weak links and sustaining growth momentum, said the report.
