China's economy reached new heights over the past five years, as 2025 marked the conclusion of the 14th Five-Year Plan, said Chinese Premier Li Qiang.

Premier Li made the remarks while delivering the government work report at the opening meeting of the fourth session of the 14th National People's Congress, the country's top legislature, on Thursday.

China's GDP crossed successive thresholds, topping 110 trillion yuan ($15.4 trillion), 120 trillion yuan, 130 trillion yuan and 140 trillion yuan, with an average annual growth of 5.4%, well above the global average.
