Across the vast landscapes of northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, rows of silver-white wind turbines stand tall, their blades turning steadily in the wind to generate clean electricity. Nearby, expansive photovoltaic arrays shimmer like blue mirrors across deserts and mountain ridges under the bright sun. Together, wind and solar power form a complementary system that continuously delivers green energy both locally and to other regions, creating a symbol of Ningxia's commitment to ecological development and sustainable growth.

In recent years, Ningxia has accelerated the building of a modern energy system during the 14th Five-Year Plan period. By focusing on wind, solar, hydropower and hydrogen energy, the region is advancing its green development as a national comprehensive new energy demonstration zone. By the end of 2025, renewable energy accounted for 65.5% of Ningxia's installed power capacity. Today, new energy has become the region's largest power source, meaning roughly one out of every three units of electricity consumed in Ningxia comes from green power.
