Immersive experiences redefine tourism in Kaifeng
At the Qingming Riverside Landscape Garden in Kaifeng, visitors can step into an immersive dining performance titled Song Banquet. Accompanied by elegant court music, guests can savor dishes inspired by ancient culinary traditions. Wang Shuang spearheaded the project, who is a National People's Congress deputy, and chairperson of Kaifeng Qingming Shanghe Garden, as part of a broader effort to deepen the integration of culture and tourism and transform heritage into a lived experience.
"The cultural tourism sector is accelerating with relentless innovation," said Wang. "Experiential consumption and emotional value have become the market's driving forces."
Wang has led efforts by Qingming Riverside Landscape Garden to deepen product innovation and experiential enhancements. Highlights include an extended reality (XR) cinematic experience that reimagines a classic Chinese painting in dynamic form. Interactive performances, character role-play, themed parades and aerial shows help further enrich the setting.
