China is confident of meeting this year's economic growth target of 4.5% to 5%, Zheng Shanjie, head of the country's top economic planner, said on Friday.

With a solid foundation – including a vast economic scale, innovative vitality, ongoing breakthroughs and institutional advantages of the systems and mechanisms – China has the confidence and determination to deal with various risks and market fluctuations and achieve its goals, he said.
