China's economic development will continue to inject much-needed stability and certainty into a turbulent world, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said at a press briefing in Beijing on Friday.

She made the remarks in response to a media query concerning China's economic growth target of 4.5–5% for 2026. The target was announced by Premier Li Qiang on Thursday morning, when he delivered the government work report at the opening meeting of the fourth session of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC).
