China has developed the world's largest and highest-quality education system, Education Minister Huai Jinpeng said on Saturday at a press conference held on the sidelines of the fourth session of the 14th National People's Congress in Beijing.
The country now operates 440,000 schools at various levels, serving 288 million students and employing 18.7 million teachers, Minister Huai said during the press conference focused on people's livelihood issues.
