China's college graduates to reach 12.7 million in 2026: official

The number of Chinese college graduates in 2026 is expected to reach about 12.7 million, Wang Xiaoping, Chinese minister of human resources and social security, said on Saturday. She described young people as a valuable talent pool, full of vitality and creativity, and detailed measures by the ministry to enable them to better integrate into the workplace and society.

The ministry will tap into the potential of all employment channels, expand employment opportunities at the grassroots level and help young people demonstrate their talents across various industries.

Seizing the time window before spring recruitment and graduation, she noted that the ministry will advance public employment services into campuses earlier, launch large-scale employment internships and skills training programs and guide young people to cultivate a professional spirit.

Wang was speaking at a press conference on people's livelihood on the sidelines of the fourth session of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) in Beijing.
