"Achieving high-level scientific and technological self-reliance and strength will remain a top priority in China's modernization during the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030)," said Wang Zhigang, a member of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and the former Minister of Science and Technology.
He made the remarks during a group interview in the second Members' Corridor of the Fourth Session of the 14th CPPCC National Committee at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Saturday afternoon.
Wang also noted that during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025), China achieved a large number of outstanding results in scientific and technological innovation.
China's high-speed rail reached a test speed of 450 kilometers per hour during the period, which will make travel faster and more convenient.
In the field of artificial intelligence (AI), embodied intelligence and multimodal AI assistants have shown many highlights.
