Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian attends a ceremony in southern Tehran, Iran, January 31, 2026.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Saturday that his country will not surrender to Israel and the United States.
"They want us to surrender without any conditions, and this is unacceptable," said Pezeshkian in a speech broadcast on state TV. "The enemies must take their wish for the surrender of the Iranian people to their graves."
US President Donald Trump on Friday said on Truth Social that "there will be no deal with Iran except unconditional surrender."
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said hours later the same day that President Trump will alone decide when Iran has effectively delivered the "unconditional surrender" Washington demands.
