Mutual trust and cooperation is beneficial to the development of China and India, while division and confrontation is detrimental to Asia's rejuvenation, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Sunday.
The China-India relations had a fresh start at the Kazan meeting and was further improved at the meeting in Tianjin in last August, said Wang, speaking at a press conference on the sidelines of the fourth session of the 14th National People's Congress in Beijing.
China and India are important neighbors to each other, both part of the Global South, with deep cultural ties and extensive shared interests, said Wang.
He said China and India must maintain the right strategic outlook, uphold good-neighborliness and friendship, and focus on development – their biggest common denominator – so that BRICS cooperation can become more substantive and bring new hope to the Global South.
