Fire erupts at foreign oil facility in Iraq, leaving visible damage

A fire erupted at an oil facility used by foreign companies in Iraq's Basra on Friday following drone attacks.

Drone footage on Saturday showed the aftermath of the compound housing offices and warehouses used by US firms Halliburton and KBR.

The flames were later brought under control, leaving visible damage to parts of the facility. There were no immediate reports of casualties.

Oil companies, including Halliburton, KBR and Schlumberger, began evacuating expatriate staff from oil fields in Iraq to Kuwait on Saturday.
