Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Sunday that China calls for an immediate stop to military operations in the Middle East to prevent further escalation and avoid the spillover of the conflict.
Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made the remarks at a press conference on foreign policy held on the sidelines of the fourth session of the 14th National People's Congress in Beijing.
Wang said that this is a war that should never have happened and one that benefits no one.
