AI joins morel mushroom harvest in China

In Jintang County in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China's largest morel mushroom trading hub with over 20,000 mu under cultivation, the peak harvest season is underway.

But this year, the harvest is powered by AI. Using cameras and algorithms to grade mushrooms by size, thickness and color, eight AI machines can sort 1 tonne in just six to seven hours, a task that once took 10 workers an entire week.
