More than 70 Taiwan residents stranded in Istanbul due to Middle East airspace closures arrived safely in Shanghai early on Tuesday. The group had been stuck for five days after flights through Abu Dhabi were canceled following the escalation of regional tensions.
With the coordination of the Chinese Consulate General in Istanbul and support from airlines and border authorities, the travelers flew to Shanghai and are set to continue their journey back to Taipei.
