During this year's Two Sessions, numerous representatives and committee members have centered their proposals on key livelihood issues, such as education, employment, rehabilitation services, barrier-free environments and the protection of rights for people with disabilities. These policy recommendations underscore a people-centered governance philosophy focused on improving well-being.
Simultaneously, the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Paralympics, which opened on March 6, is also showcasing inclusion, equality and the spirit of pushing beyond limits on the world stage. For China's roughly 85 million persons with disabilities, this message is being translated into real opportunities. With continued progress in educational equity, employment support and accessibility, more diverse paths are opening up. Visually impaired programmers are one vivid example. With assistive technology, they are entering the digital world and proving that disability is never the limit of ability. Given equal opportunities and strong support, more possibilities are becoming real.
