The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) claimed that an Israeli strike, based on military intelligence, killed Hisham Abd al-Karim Yassin on Thursday. The IDF identified Yassin as a key commander within Hezbollah's communications unit and the Iranian Quds Force's Palestine Corps.
According to the IDF, Yassin is the fifth Quds Force commander and the third Palestine Corps official to be killed since the start of what it calls "Operation Roaring Lion."
