China and the United States are in communication with each other regarding US President Donald Trump's China visit, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson said on Monday.

Spokesperson Lin Jian made the remarks at a daily press briefing in response to a related query, adding that head-of-state diplomacy plays an irreplaceable strategic leading role in China-US relations.
