China's Special Envoy on Afghan Affairs Yue Xiaoyong shuttled between Afghanistan and Pakistan from March 7 to 14 to mediate recent conflicts between the two neighbors.
During his visit to Afghanistan, Yue met with Afghan Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi and the Minister of Industry and Commerce Alhaj Nooruddin Azizi.

In Pakistan, he held talks with the Foreign Secretary of Pakistan Amna Baloch and the Prime Minister's Special Representative for Afghanistan Mohammad Sadiq.
China urged both sides to remain calm and exercise restraint, achieve a ceasefire at the earliest opportunity and resolve differences through dialogue.
Both sides appreciated China's efforts of mediation and are willing to resolve issues through political and diplomatic means.
