Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian on Monday addressed the escalating tensions surrounding the Strait of Hormuz and nearby waters, noting they have disrupted international cargo and energy trade routes while undermining regional and global peace and stability.

At a regular press briefing, Lin called on all parties to immediately cease military actions, avoid further escalation and prevent regional instability from having a greater impact on global economic development.
