The China Coast Guard (CCG) said on Tuesday that its vessels lawfully expelled a Japanese fishing boat that intruded into the territorial waters of China's Diaoyu Dao on Monday.
The CCG vessels took necessary administrative measures and issued warnings to expel it in accordance with the law, it said in a statement.
"Diaoyu Dao and its affiliated islands are China's inherent territory," the CCG stressed. "We urge the Japanese side to immediately stop all rights-violation and provocative acts in relevant waters."
The CCG said it will continue to conduct rights-protection and law enforcement operations in the waters around Diaoyu Dao, and resolutely safeguard China's sovereignty and maritime rights and interests.
