China has launched a hydrogen energy application pilot program to drive high-quality development and green transition. Led by city clusters, each pilot will run for four years with central rewards of up to $232 million. By 2030, China aims to lower the hydrogen price below $3.5 per kg, and about $2.1 in key regions. The country is also targeting 100,000 fuel cell vehicles nationwide, double the 2025 level. The program will focus on fuel cell vehicles, industrial use and innovative applications, helping solve high costs and storage challenges.
