The Israeli army said on Tuesday that Iran's top security official Ali Larijani and Gholamreza Soleimani, commander of Iran's Basij volunteer force, were killed in its strikes, with no official confirmation from Tehran.

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, during a phone conversation with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Monday, said the root cause of the disruption to shipping in the Strait of Hormuz lies in US-Israeli military strikes against Iran.
