Migratory birds have arrived at the Yellow River wetlands in Wuhai, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, as spring brings warmer temperatures to northern China. Around 20,000 birds, including black storks, Eurasian spoonbills and black-headed gulls, now inhabit the wetlands, twice the number of the same period last year. Wuhai has stepped up ecological protection and restoration of the Yellow River basin, turning the city into a key stopover for birds traveling along major flyways.
