China's first deep‑sea green intelligent test ship, Weilai, has begun sea trials with over 20 sets of domestic marine equipment. The 110‑meter, 7,000‑tonne fully electric ship has a range of 10,000 nautical miles. As a floating laboratory, it speeds up the commercialization of homemade marine tech. It is testing a domestic intelligent steering system to break foreign dominance, with real‑sea data collected under complex conditions.
