China will continue to maintain communication with the US side regarding President Donald Trump's China visit, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson said on Wednesday.

Spokesperson Lin Jian made the remarks at a daily press briefing in response to a query about China-US high-level exchanges.

"Head-of-state diplomacy plays an irreplaceable strategic leading role in China-US relations," Lin added.
