There is a rare image of a baby Oriental stork, a first-class protected species in central China's Hunan Province. The chick hatched in the South Dongting Lake Nature Reserve in Yiyang. Two pairs of storks nested in the reserve this year. The birth of the chick, marks the third straight year of successful breeding. Once endangered, the storks have become a regular presence, thanks to ongoing wetland restoration and stronger conservation efforts.
