From paper-thin to heavy-duty, China's stainless steel is pushing the limits. At Taiyuan Iron and Steel Company, engineers have produced foil just 0.015 millimeters thick, powering breakthroughs in aerospace and next-gen communications.
Behind it is the company's technology center, led by Zhang Wei, who has spent more than 20 years pushing steel innovation – through late nights in the lab, countless trials and long stretches of solitary work to crack core technical challenges.
