Iran said its air defense system struck a US F-35 over central Iran early on Thursday, heavily damaging the aircraft, according to Iranian media. 

CNN, citing US military sources, reported the jet made an emergency landing at a US base in the Middle East after being hit. 

Over 70,000 civilian sites have been damaged in the US-Israeli attacks on Iran, with more than 18,000 civilians injured, Iranian Red Crescent Society President Pir Hossein Kolivand said, according to an Anadolu report. 

Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel will heed US President Donald Trump's call not to repeat strikes on key Iranian energy sites, including the South Pars gas field, CNN reported.

The US State Department has approved a $16.5 billion deal for arms sales to the UAE, Kuwait and Jordan as tensions with Iran escalate, Al Jazeera reported.
