Set against the satellite system's decades-long development, Beidou follows three young engineers as they navigate technical hurdles, personal growth, and the mentorship of veteran scientists. "Their journey mirrors China's rapid progress in aerospace technology," explained screenwriter Hao Zhe.
Before filming began, the production team conducted extensive interviews with engineers from the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, the Beijing Aerospace Control Center, and other key institutions involved in the Beidou project. "Every critical event and technical detail in the series is rooted in real history," said project producer Tan Jing. "We wanted to create a narrative that resonates globally."
Filming for Beidou is set to commence in the first half of this year. With international distribution deals already under discussion, producer Tan Jing further revealed that the series will also be distributed in countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative.
