Yaroslava Mahuchikh returned to the top of the podium on Friday, clearing 2.01 meters to win the women's high jump title at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Torun, Poland.
The Ukrainian, a world record holder, was the only competitor to clear 2.01 on her first attempt. All four finalists had gone clean through 1.99.
Australia's Nicola Olyslagers, Serbia's Angelina Topic and Ukraine's Yuliia Levchenko shared silver.
Mahuchikh, now a four-time world indoor champion, raised the bar to 2.06 but was unable to clear the higher mark.
In the women's shot put, the USA's Chase Jackson took gold with a throw of 20.14 meters, the only mark beyond 20 meters in the field.
Canada's Sarah Mitton claimed silver with 19.78, while Sweden's Axelina Johansson clinched bronze with a national record of 19.75.
Italy's Andy Diaz Hernandez retained his men's triple jump title with a world-leading effort of 17.47 meters. Jamaica's Jordan Scott finished second at 17.33, three centimeters ahead of Algeria's Yasser Mohammed Triki.
In the final event of the day, the USA's Jordan Anthony won the men's 60 meters in a world-leading time of 6.41 seconds.
Jamaica's Krishane Thompson edged the USA's Trayvon Bromell for silver in 6.45, with Great Britain's Jeremiah Azu just 0.01 seconds behind.
