Mystery of the 3,000-year-old bronze hand

This delicately crafted bronze hand, perfectly proportioned and roughly the size of a 4- or 5-year-old child, was unearthed at the Yin Ruins in central China's Henan Province. Its lifelike gesture is striking, with the back of the hand adorned with taotie motifs and eye-shaped patterns. As the only bronze hand-shaped artifact from the Shang Dynasty ever discovered in China, its function remains a mystery to scholars. What do you think it was used for?
