Earth Hour began in Sydney in 2007 and has grown into the world's largest public environmental movement. Organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), it encourages individuals, communities and organizations around the globe to switch off non-essential lights and electrical appliances for one hour at 8:30 p.m. local time on the last Saturday of March each year to demonstrate their support for the environment. In 2026, we'll be celebrating the 20th year of Earth Hour!
To mark this milestone moment with greater artistic resonance and communicative energy, CGTN and WWF are launching the "Green Light for Future" global open call, inviting light painting artists and photographers from around the world to lead their communities in switching off and creating art to express love and gratitude for our planet.
Paint a future where people and nature thrive together. Show the green future in your mind!
