Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng on Sunday met with a delegation from the US-China Business Council (USCBC) in Beijing.
He, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, noted China-US relations are among the most important bilateral ties in the world.
He expressed the hope that the US-China Business Council will continue to serve as a bridge to promote friendship and support the steady and sound development of economic and trade relations between the two countries.
He also encouraged US companies to seize opportunities arising from China's development and make full use of the country's vast market potential, in order to inject greater stability and positive momentum into bilateral economic ties.
Rajesh Subramaniam, chair of the USCBC's board, and Sean Stein, USCBC's president, said the US business community remains optimistic about China's economic prospects and is willing to continue expanding its presence in the Chinese market, playing an active role in deepening bilateral economic cooperation.
