Shanghai Sharks continue dominance with convincing CBA win over Sichuan Blue Whales

The Shanghai Sharks overwhelmed the Sichuan Blue Whales 111-71 in the CBA, extending their winning streak to nine games. 

Li Hongquan shone brightly, leading the charge with 21 points, five rebounds, and three assists in just 23 minutes of play. In total, seven players from Shanghai contributed to the scoring, underscoring their depth and cohesion as they improved their record to 24-4.

The Blue Whales, still seeking their first victory of the season, managed to keep things competitive initially, trailing only 25-21 at the end of the first quarter. 

However, the Sharks unleashed a dominant second quarter, outscoring their opponents 34-14 and effectively sealing their 13th win in 14 games.

In other action, Zhao Rui propelled the Beijing Ducks to a thrilling 93-83 victory over the Liaoning Flying Leopards with a season-high 34 points. 

After trailing 70-68 early in the fourth quarter, Beijing launched a decisive 14-2 run, establishing an 82-72 cushion with 4:30 remaining. This victory came as a relief following a surprising defeat to the Fujian Sturgeons just days prior. 

Elsewhere on Saturday, the Nanjing Monkey Kings fell short against the Qingdao Eagles, losing 95-88, while the Zhejiang Golden Bulls secured a comfortable 98-73 victory over the Jilin Northeast Tigers. 

The Fujian Sturgeons narrowly lost to the Shanxi Loongs 100-98, and the Ningbo Rockets suffered a 95-83 setback against the Guangzhou Loong Lions.
