Development of US-Japan ties should not come at the expense of others

The development of bilateral relations between the United States and Japan should be conducive to regional peace and stability rather than target a third party or harm their interests, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian said at a regular press briefing in Beijing on Monday.

Lin was responding to a media query regarding negative comments from Japanese internet users about Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi's recent visit to Washington.
