World Tuberculosis Day is observed annually on March 24. Tuberculosis (TB) is one of the oldest known infectious diseases. It is caused by bacteria that primarily affect the lungs and is still a major global public health challenge today.

In an exclusive interview with CGTN's Health Talk, Dr. Li Liang, vice president of Beijing Chest Hospital affiliated with Capital Medical University, outlines four key steps for effective TB prevention: maintaining a strong immune system, ensuring proper ventilation, practicing good hygiene and avoiding going to public places when feeling under the weather.

TB is both preventable and curable. By maintaining a healthy lifestyle, cultivating greater awareness and seeking early diagnosis and treatment, we can all take meaningful steps to protect ourselves and those around us.
