Renowned Chinese-American curator Victoria Lu recently revealed plans to launch an AI-centric exhibition titled Metamorphosis: Beyond the Real – Searching for Victoria Lu in Italy this May. Widely known for her exploration in artificial intelligence, as seen in her artwork Beijing Swifts, about the migratory birds named after the Chinese capital, during a film festival two years ago.

The new exhibition is set to coincide with the prestigious Venice Biennale, adding another layer of cultural and artistic significance to the event.

By adopting the model of an academic research exhibition, it aims to delve into the deep and enduring symbiotic relationship that female individuals are forging in the digital and virtual era, with an open and ongoing attitude.

Lu has made remarkable achievements in the field of AI. One of her most notable works is Beijing Swifts, created through the application of AI technology. This dynamic flying device made a stunning debut at the opening show of the 15th Beijing International Film Festival in 2024. The ground-breaking work not only demonstrated the innovative application of AI in terms of artistic creation but also paid homage to the spirit of Beijing through a brand-new artistic language.

In addition to her artistic endeavors, Lu has also been actively involved in the film industry's exploration of AI. In December 2025, she was a key guest at the AI Film Season of the Hainan International Film Festival.
