Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday visited the Xiongan New Area in north China's Hebei Province, and called for efforts to build the Xiongan New Area into an innovation hub in the new era and a model of promoting high-quality development.

President Xi inspected construction progress in the start-up zone and visited China Huaneng Group and the Xiongan campus of Beijing No. 4 High School. He also chaired a symposium on further advancing the high-quality construction and development of the new area. It was Xi's fourth visit to the Xiongan New Area since its establishment in 2017.
