The Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council said on Wednesday that any attempts to split the country by relying on external forces are doomed to fail. This is in response to the Democratic Progressive Party authorities in Taiwan expressing thanks following the meeting held last week between the US and Japanese leaders who touched upon the situation across the Taiwan Strait.
