Chinese President Xi Jinping inspected the Xiongan New Area and visited the school on Monday, where he conversed with teachers and students in the classroom to learn about the teaching situation there.

Students at the Xiongan School of Beijing No. 4 High School are still talking about the moment President Xi walked into their classroom. "He was standing less than a meter away from me!" said one student. During his visit, President Xi spoke with students about their studies and daily lives, encouraging them to cherish their learning environment, work hard and pursue their dreams.

Opened in 2023, the school is part of a broader effort to ensure that children of families who moved to Xiongan have access to high-quality education. From kindergartens to hospitals, more public services from the capital are being introduced, helping turn Xiongan into not just a place to work but a place to truly call home.

The Chinese leadership, led by President Xi Jinping, announced the decision to establish the Xiongan New Area in April 2017 as a major national strategy to relieve Beijing of non-capital functions and promote coordinated regional development. Since then, state-owned enterprises, universities and public institutions have been steadily relocated to Xiongan, including the Xiongan School of Beijing No. 4 High School.
