Among the 755 jade artifacts unearthed from the Tomb of Fu Hao, 216 feature animal forms. Some were perforated for wearing, some had tenons for insertion into other objects and others were purely decorative. These jade pieces are finely carved with distinct detailing. Beyond mere resemblance, the artisans placed great emphasis on capturing the dynamic postures of the animals, achieving a harmonious balance of form and spirit.
