China has built a world-leading water network that supports the country's economic and social development.

It is the largest and most comprehensive such system in the world, covering 80.3% of the land.

It also encompasses 95,000 reservoirs and dams with total storage of more than a trillion cubic meters. China ranks first globally in the number and diversity of reservoirs.
