Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Thursday held a phone conversation with Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand over the current situation in the Middle East.

Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, elaborated on China's principled position, stating that the Iranian nuclear issue should be resolved through dialogue and should not be used as a pretext for military action.
