Stretching over 150 kilometers and covering nearly 46,000 hectares, the Yellow River Wetland Nature Reserve in Shaanxi Province is a vital stopover for migratory birds along the East Asian–Australasian Flyway.
In recent years, strengthened conservation efforts have led to steady ecological improvement, attracting a growing number and a diversity of migratory birds. From early October to late March, flocks of cranes, swans and geese arrive from northern breeding grounds such as Siberia, turning the wetlands into a spectacular "avian marketplace."
