Iran's oil exports from Kharg Island are proceeding smoothly, and the security situation on the island remains stable with normal daily life, Ebrahim Rezaei, the spokesperson for the Iranian parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee said on Saturday.
Rezaei made the remarks during a visit to Kharg Island on the same day with some members of the committee. He warned that any attack targeting the island would be met with a firm response from Iran.
Located in the northwestern part of the Persian Gulf, about 25 kilometers off Iran's coast, Kharg Island is the country's largest crude oil export base, accounting for about 90% of its crude oil exports.
